CP Christian Church Youth Group Upcoming Meeting Dates and Activities
Sunday, November 2 The activities will start following church services with lunch being served downstairs. After lunch, the children will learn how to look up scriptures in the Bible. After they have had practice in finding various scriptures, the kids will be divided up into "teams" combining the younger and older together to play a "Scripture Scavenger Hunt". Each team will be given 3-4 specific scriptures to find in the Bible and then figure out what place in the church each scripture is describing. They the kids will go to that place and see if they were correct. After all of the teams have successfully achieved their goal of finding the correct locations, everyone will get a prize for participating. After the Scavenger Hunt, the kids will then create Thanksgiving crafts to be handed out to the congregation and community at upcoming events (see dates below). The meeting should be over between 2-2:30 p.m.
Saturday, November 22 The Community Thanksgiving Dinner will take place at the NP Elementary School. The organizers have asked our youth group to provide some of the entertainment for the evening. We have been asked to perform a few songs, etc. So, I thought we would sing 2-3 songs and then pass out some of the Thanksgiving crafts to audience members (if we made enough at the Nov. 2 meeting). The dinner begins at 6:00 p.m. with the program following around 7:00 p.m.
Sunday, November 23 During the Children's Service portion of church services, the children will sing the songs, etc. that we performed the night before at the Community Thanksgiving Dinner. Then we'll pass out the Thanksgiving crafts to the congregation. |

FROM A GARDEN TO A CITY In Gensis in the beginning there is a garden where god dwelt with us & we were nourished spiritually. There were trees in the garden with every kind of friut for food & we were nourished physically. There was the garden to dress & tend to give us work for a sense of purpose & accomplishment. In revelation in the end there is a city where we will dwell with in the presence of God. A city where there will be no pain, tears, sorrow, parting or death. Our journey is from a garden lost & a life that will enter into a city eternal in the heavens where we will dwell in the house of the lord forever We have'nt lost paradise we journey toward paradise. We have'nt lost life, we gain eternal life. Jesus said, "I AM THE RESURRECTION & THE LIFE. HE WHO BELIEVES IN ME, THOUGH HE MAY DIE, HE SHALL LIVE"--JOHN 11=25 GALEN . |
